The Barcelona - Catalonia circuit has hosted the fourth round of the Spanish Superbike Championship (ESBK), where the Andotrans Team Torrentó has reached the halfway point of the season.

The team came with a lot of desire for this test and with the added motivation that racing in the home circuit entails. Nevertheless, there were doubts about the participation of Oscar Gutierrez in this test, due to the fall he had the previous week in the same circuit, performing some tests with the team, where the clavicle was fractured. Finally, the superbike rider was not approved by the doctors to be able to compete.

Results that don't end free workouts, the team worked on the set-up of the bikes, trying to find the best sensations for the riders and Aleix Viu got the best time on friday. Saturday, in qualifying session, Aleix managed to take pole, beating the track record in the category with a time of 1:45.312. Mario Mayor, Meanwhile, was awarded the twelfth position to fight in the race.

on the saturday race, the battle for the first position was close until the last laps, Aleix he was holding the second position until the last lap where he overtook the race leader and managed to get a well-deserved victory. On the other hand, Mario, due to a shoulder injury, had a difficult race and finished in fourteenth position in the general classification.

The Sunday the second test of the weekend took place, where Aleix Viu took the victory again leading the race from the first lap, further, he increased lap by lap the distance from his pursuers until the checkered flag. While, Mario Mayor, finished in tenth position, improving the position of the previous day.

In this way, Aleix Viu has finished the fourth round as the leader in the general classification of the championship and now accumulates an advantage of 23 points over second-placed. As to Mario Mayor, the rider from Navarra finished the weekend in eleventh position.

The fifth round of the ESBK will be held at the Motorland Aragon Circuit, the weekend of 23 Y 24 de julio.
